Conclusion:In our study half of our patients had cutaneous fungal infections that show high prevalence of these infections in our society.Access to accurate statistics document of fungal infections like pityriasis and dermatophytosis (most prevalen fungal infection) in each region can lead to the control and prevention of disease and promotion of community health. Keywords:cutaneouse fungal infection -Background:Diagnosis of the superficial mycosis agents may be effective in directing the survey for environmental and animal sources of infection to educate the danger of acquiring infections from infected persons and other animals. Based on this background the identification of cutaneous mycosis distribution was the main purpose of our study. Method: From March 2000 to March 2011 we examined 8694 patients suspected to superficial and cutaneous mycosis referred to medical mycology lab of Emam Reza Hospital of Mashhad. Skin, hair and nail sampling were taken by scraping from patients and collected for diagnosis. Diagnosis was confirmed by direct microscopy and culture according to the mycology routine laboratory methods.We study all 10 years recorded data . Results: A total of 3944 cases (45.36 ) suffered from superficial and cutaneous mycosis. The most common infections were malassezia 2212 cases (51.8 ), dermatophytosis 1257 cases (33 ), cutaneous candidiasis 258 cases (6.8 ), aspergillos 62 cases (1.6 ) and saprophytic cutaneous mycosis 15 cases (0.4 ). 1936 cases (50.9 ) patients were male and 1868 cases (49.1 ) were female.
