خلاصه يا چکيده : ‭Background: Food allergy is one of the major health problems in different countries and is the most common case of Anaphylaxis in outpatient setting. Food allergens are not same in different countries that indicate the probable role of genetic, cultural and nutritional factors. Method: In this study, all patients suspected to food allergy refered to pediatric immunology and gastrointestinal clinics were studied. For patients with IgE mediated food allergy, skin prick test was done. In patients with gastrointestinal symptoms diagnosis were done based on clinical presentation, biopsy, eliminational diet and skin prick test in some cases. Results: 371 patient were studied. The age range was between 3 month and 18 years. 53.9 were boy and 46,1 were girl. The most frequent food allergens were egg white, pepper, curry, egg yolk, cows milk and tomato. The most common symptoms were respiratory, dermatologic and gastrointestinal problems respectively. Although in most countries cows milk is the most food allergen, its not a general rule, and in some countries egg or fruits are more common. In our study egg white was the most common allergen. Its also important to consider the age of patients, as we showed in this study by increasing of child age the prevalence of egg, cows milk, wheat and cereals allergy decreased and pepper and curry allergy increased.
