خلاصه يا چکيده : ‭TB treatment, duration and response to treatment. Results: 58 patients were studied which it was 25 patients with TBM (43 ) and 33 patients with non TBM (57 ). There was a significant relation between age and duration of the clinical symptoms, CSF lymphocyte count, lower neutrophil percentage and lower CSF white cell count in patients with TBM (p<0.0001). At the other hand there was no significant relation between gender, fever, headache, behavior changes, seizure and vomiting in these two groups. Conclusion: The diagnostic criterion has a fair validation in our population when the age factor is excluded. The rule is useful in patients with low CSF sugar content and negative organism yield in the CSF Keywords: Tuberculous meningitis, Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) -TBM). Then they were compared in these aspects: final diagnosis, duration between admission and beginning of anti-1389. According to clinical and laboratory criteria of Thawits for tuberculosis meningitis the patients were categorized in two groups: TBM and not possible for TBM (non-Background: The diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis is difficult. Discrimination of cases from those of bacterial meningitis by clinical features alone is often impossible, and current laboratory methods remain inadequate or inaccessible in developing countries. We aimed to validate the diagnostic criteria by Thwaites et al. and construct our own diagnostic predictors based on the clinical and laboratory features. Method: This study has been done on admitted patients with meningitis (the patients which were TBM suspected by their clinical pattern or their response to treatment or definite diagnosis of TBM according to their smear or culture or PCR for mycobacterium tuberculosis) in infectious department of Imam Reza Hospital from 1379‬
